Alex's Skin Cell Blog

Chatting With Alex

Alex was diagnosed with young onset sporadic Parkinson’s disease and has volunteered to let us use his cells for modeling Parkinson’s disease to better understand causes for neurodegeneration. In a dialogue with Alex, we will explain the journey of how his skin cells become a model for Parkinson's disease.

The blog goes
behind the scenes of cutting-edge research through the eyes of Alex, a Parkinson's Disease patient whose stem cells are being used to develop a cure. Check out the blog here.

Tragically, Alex died in the fall of 2021 during a training expedition in preparation for climbing Mount Everest. His life's mission was to raise funds to cure Parkinson's disease, embrace life to the fullest, and fight the fear and the darkness. #Keepmoving
